on the Middle Rhine river" Fireworks. Rhine river banks near Filsen, 9p. ("The first wine festival takes place on the third weekend in September from Friday to Monday and the second wine festival on the following weekend, the fourth September weekend from Friday to Sunday. A highlight on both festivals is the firework display on both Saturdays. Even though the fireworks under the motto "Lightning night on the middle Rhine river" don't belong to the events of "Rhine in flames" / "Rhine aflame", they still attract thousands of visitors every year.
